This statute was a gift to the Vancouver Park Board from sculptor Elek Imredy.
Unveiled June 10,  1972, she represents Vancouver's dependence on the sea.

Indian legend tells us that this 50 foot high pinnacle of rock stands as an imperishable monument to "Skalsh The Unselfish" who was turned into stone by 
"Q'uas The Transformer" as a reward for his unselfishness.
